Tar Spring Petroleum Company Advert

Came across this little advert in the Oswego Commerical Times, Jan-April 1865 today. The stock certificate on the front page is also from the Tar Spring Petroleum Company. Hamilton was on the advisory board.

"Struck Oil—A flowing well has just been struck in Lewis county, Ky., that is running at the rate of fifty barrels a day. This well is situated in the immediate vicinity of the lands of the Tar spring Petroleum Co. and is another convincing proof of the abundant deposits of petroleum in Kentucky.

"The first dug well in Sandusky Ohio produces four barrels of heavy fine oil a day.
Hamilton was on the advisory board.
